10 Declarations for the 21st Century

I hope everyone had a super Easter weekend! Ours was quiet but very nice.

Today, I'm going to share with you some information that I received from being a member of the CBI Clubhouse/WriteForKids. For those of you who aren't yet a member, you should think about it. I've gotten a ton of very useful information from this membership that continues to help me with my writing. If you want to check it out, click here.

The 10 Declarations below really hit home for me because I desperately need to work on all of them myself. In fact, I think it would be helpful if not only myself but all writers print this out and tape it right beside our workspaces. Let me know what you think!

Spring Flowers and a Book Signing

Spring has definitely arrived here in Baton Rouge, LA. The birds are chirping away, the flowers are blooming, the sun is out, and the bugs are finding their way back.

Way down here in swamp country, we don't get to see much color in the fall but our springs are just gorgeous.

It's amazing the flowers that bloom down here and even more amazing that I can actually keep some of them alive... for awhile anyway. I was definitely not born with a green thumb. But I just love watching my flowers bloom. I have some roses much like the ones in the 2nd photo that are just lovely. When they first bloom, they start out a bright yellow with an orange ring. Then they gradually get darker orange before they are ready to die. Just gorgeous!

However, I'll have to take a break from looking at all the pretty flowers because I'll be attending the Jones Creek Library, Authors Row Event this weekend. This is truly an honor to be sitting amongst at least 40-45 other fellow authors. Selling my books and watching kids so excited to get my book is even more enjoyable than staring at beautiful flowers!

If you are in the area, stop on by and say hello to us writers and maybe even buy a book or two. Hope to see some of you there!
