Are Children’s Books secure in the marketplace?

We’ve all heard it. The depressing rumors about the fact that children’s books are going by the wayside. It’s worried me as I’m sure it’s worried some of my other writing friends.

I’ve often wondered why I’m doing this if children’s books are going away. After all, writing for children is not easy. And getting published is even harder. And to top that, I don't know about the rest of you, but I've had many depressing days because the more you write and submit, the more rejections you get. However, when the light from underneath the tunnel finally appears and you get an acceptance… all the bad days suddenly become cloudy in your mind and all your hard work seems worth it.

If you're feeling a little down about your writing this week, maybe this article from Publishers Weekly will help uplift your spirits a little bit. It’s very encouraging news. Especially the very first sentence which states “Children’s Books are not going anywhere.”

Instead of posting the entire article on my website, I’ve included the web address for you to refer to instead. Let me know what you think. Does this sound encouraging to you?

2. Share 4 guilty pleasures that you have.

3. Pass the award along to 6 other sweet blogs

2. Movies. I love going to the movies, I love watching movies. I love eating popcorn at the movies.  My favorite to watch at home by myself are animation children’s movies. Especially the Barbie ones!!

3. I love to be lazy and do absolutely nothing but eat and watch TV or read a good book.

4. Doggy kisses. I can’t get enough of them. And yes, right in my face!

5 Fun Questions - Let's get to know each other better!

Today I'd like to thank all my followers for participating in my recent author interview with Courtney Rene and to all of you who have commented on any of my ramblings or have just taken the time to read them. I know how busy we all are so I really do appreciate it.

I thought it might be fun to ask all of you a few questions so we could get to know each other a little better!

So below are 5 questions which could be book related or not so we can get to know each other better! The only rule is you can't use the same answer twice! Have fun!

1.What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?

2.If you could bring one character to life from your favorite book, who would it be?

3.What dead person would you least want to be haunted by?

4.If you had to be trapped in a book for a month, which book would you choose? (you can also pick what character you would want to be as well)

5.If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose? (you can also pick what character you would want to be as well)
